St. Patrick’s Day is Thursday, March 17—but everyone knows that you don’t have to be Irish to celebrate. As luck would have it, we’ve put together a few ideas on how to welcome the spring season with all things green and merry.
GO TO A PARADE
Check your local parade route online before you head out. St. Paddy’s Day parades are kid friendly and almost always include Irish musicians, leprechauns, bagpipe players and generally any-and-all-things-Irish.
CHECK OUT AN IRISH PUB
Besides March Madness on TV, most of them will also feature food, music, games, and of course, green beer. If the weather’s nice, take your good time outside on the patio.
Get everyone in the kitchen and cook up your own taste of Ireland. If you don’t have any takers on corned beef and cabbage or shepherd’s pie, just whip up some green pancakes.
THROW A PARTY
Yes, it’s last minute, but the neighbors won’t care. Invite them over to celebrate the luck of the Irish with green beer for the adults, green milkshakes for the kids, and plastic leprechaun hats for all.
DON'T GET PINCHED
Legend has it that wearing green makes you invisible to leprechauns, who pinch anyone they see. Here are some cute ways around that.
